Personal Life & Interests

Attorney Wainey is married to James Wainey, a retired high school mathematics teacher. She and Jim moved from the Greater Cleveland, Ohio area to Cape Coral, Florida with their two children in 2007. They continue to maintain contacts in Ohio with family and friends, particularly at their home in Catawba Island on the shores of Lake Erie.

Deborah has volunteered with the Animal Refuge Center, the largest no-kill shelter in Southwest Florida, since shortly after becoming a Florida resident. Recently, she was appointed to the Board of Trustees and is looking forward to working with her co-trustees to ensure that the shelter continues to offer top-notch services for cats and dogs as well as a wonderful volunteer choice for seasonal and year-round residents of Florida.
