Seeking an attorney with strong interest and experience in Social Security Disability and personal injury to assist with hearings, appeals, and PI litigation. Supervisory skills are beneficial. This is a career position with a salary range of $70,000 to $100,000. A law school transcript of grades is also required.

Duties to include:

  • Develop Social Security case files in terms of refining strategies.
  • Supervise paralegals
  • Appear at hearings before Administrative Law Judges
  • Keep track of diary system and Statute of Limitations
  • Good writing and research skills preparing Federal Court Appeals (writing samples
  • required)
  • Familiarity with EAJA, 406(a) and 406(b) fees
  • Skills cross examining vocational and medical experts
  • Pre-hearing memos and preps with clients
  • Post-hearing briefs for presentation to Administrative Law Judges
  • Good standing with the Bar.
  • Presentations at staff meetings once a week.
  • Frequent contact with clients and presentment of status reports to clients.
  • Appeals Council briefs. 
  • Pl experience helpful.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000 yearly

  • Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice
  • Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions
  • Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems
  • Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney’s calendar

Qualification

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Paralegal Certificate (preferred)
  • Experience in disability or injury related practice areas (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant preferably in a law firm setting or in a corporate legal department
